Caritas Australia, as the Catholic Church's agency for aid and development, gives expression to the Gospel imperative to pursue justice and to help those suffering from poverty and disadvantage. Caritas Australia works through the principles and practices of community development, supporting people to help themselves out of poverty, hunger and injustice.

Integral to undertaking these key activities of aid and development, Caritas Australia works within Australia to engage all people in education and advocacy programs.

One component of our work in education is the production of OzSpirit. OzSpirit is produced by Caritas Australia and Church Resources. OzSpirit is a free, weekly on-line magazine that provides students, teachers, parishes and community groups with a wealth of up-to-date material about issues of spirituality, justice and global education. OzSpirit also provides ideas about how we can all help to alleviate injustice in our world. OzSpirit consists of:

• Feature articles
• Opinion pieces
• Reflection
• A guide to relevant television shows and websites
