NSW: Talk by Archbishop Odama from Uganda, 10 March 2008
Archbishop John Baptista Odama, of the Gulu Diocese in northern Uganda, is renowned for his peace building efforts in the horrendous twenty-year conflict in the region.
As the senior leader of the Catholic Church in the Diocese, and the President of the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission, the Archbishop has played an instrumental role as negotiator between the two main warring parties, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and the Ugandan Government forces.

QLD: “Land and Culture: Economic Development, Environmental Issues, 99-Year Leases, Land Rights and Native Title” Speech by Mr Tom Calma, 20 February 2008
Mr Tom Calma, Aboriginal and Islander Commissioner, Human Rights & Equal Opportunity Commission, Aboriginal elder from the Kungarakan tribal group and a member of the Iwaidja tribal group in the Northern Territory, will present a speech titled Land and Culture: Economic Development, Environmental Issues, 99-Year Leases, Land Rights and Native Title at the Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation (ANTaR) annual general meeting on Wednesday 20 February at 7.30 p.m. His speech is one in a series of Essentials for Social Justice speeches. The ANTaR AGM will commence at 6.30 p.m. at the QCU Building, 16 Peel Street, South Brisbane.

QLD: Women, faith and a Culture of Peace, Multi-faith symposium 23 -25 February 2008
The Griffith University's Multi-Faith Centre and Believing Women for a Culture of Peace are co-hosting an inter-faith symposium titled Women, Faith & A Culture of Peace which will highlight the contribution of women in the Asia/Pacific region to inter-faith dialogue and initiatives.
The symposium will be held from Saturday 23 February to Monday 25 February at the Multi-Faith Centre. Panellists and workshop presenters come from around Australia and the Asia/Pacific region.

NT: Walking With Spirits, Indigenous Festival, 28 July 2008
Walking With Spirits is an annual celebration of indigenous culture of the Wugularr (Beswick) Community and engages traditional and contemporary artistic media (including lighting, sound amplification, fire and projection) to share the cultural traditions of Beswick people and their families from around Arnhem Land.
