Hold a Caritas Global Reality Meal
Hold a banquet in your school to show the extremes of wealth and poverty in our world . The ‘lucky’ 20% of students are seated at a table adorned with cakes, sweets, soft drink, pizza and ice cream. The other 80% of students have to serve themselves rice and water and stand or sit on the floor.

Schools blow the whistle……
Students and teachers from St John Bosco College, Engadine organised a soccer match between staff and students to “blow the whistle on poverty". Over 150 kids attended the Ashgrove Action Social get together in July to mark the 07:07:07 half-way point. Students from Xavier College, Hervey Bay also organised an 07-07-07 event. Mt St Patrick College in urwillumbah marked 07:07:07 with students and teachers blowing whistles and raising wareness about the Make Poverty History campaign. More...

Climate change not only endangers the sustainable use of the land and the world’s water resources, but threatens the very existence of some countries. The upheaval caused by global warming – the loss of land, increased drought, heat waves, and rising sea levels – will impact food security, speed up desertification, and hasten the spread of disease. Moreover, the poor will bear the brunt. Earlier this year , the Caritas Internationalis Confederation launched its Guidelines on Environmental Justice, produced by Caritas Oceania.
