Hold a banquet in your school to show the extremes of wealth and poverty in our world such as that experienced in all of the Project Compassion stories. All students pay $2 to participate. The ‘lucky’ 20% of students are seated at a table adorned with cakes, sweets, soft drink, pizza and ice cream. To find our more about this tour click here NSW: My Tsunami’ Art by Sri Lankan children who survived the 2004 Tsunami Twenty drawings and paintings will be featured in the exhibition My Tsunami at Mary MacKillop Place Museum over the next few months. The exhibition will show children’s works of art which reflect their experience of the tsunami, its aftermath and its impact on their lives. calls us to reflect this lent on how we might alleviate the suffering of others in our world.
The G8 have promised to revisit the issue of development when they meet in Germany in 2007. But will they ensure that the needs of the 1.2 billion people living on less than a dollar a day are accorded the attention they deserve and are put at the top of the agenda?
