Taking Action

"They will hammer their swords into ploughshares and their spears into sickles. Nation will not lift sword against nation, no longer will they learn how to make war." Isaiah 2:4

Today, in many nations of the world we see the opposite of Isaiah’s vision with ploughshares being hammered into swords and violence escalating. But we need to believe just as Isaiah did that all the nations of the earth can be drawn into the way of peace. Take a step toward this vision today. Take action

  • Let your behavior reflect the values you want others to espouse. Pass this edition of OzSpirit onto your friends or family so they can learn more about issues of peace. To do this use the 'Tell a friend' form at the right hand side of this page.
  • Visit neighborhoods in your town or country that are ethnically focused to appreciate different cultures. Cross-cultural understanding is key to building peace.
  • Help bring peace to the environment by reducing your carbon load emissions and lobby for climate action. Start by visiting Getup
    www.getup.org.au
  • Adopt a politician. Write a monthly letter to your local representative, state or Federal on peace-related issues. www.aph.gov.au
