Forum on Aceh
Caritas hosted a forum for NGOs to meet with human rights activists visiting from Aceh and Jakarta, on behalf of Indonesian Solidarity on Tuesday November 9. Ms Ratna Hotahai is a human rights lawyer from the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) Banda Aceh, and Mr Rafendi Djamin who works with the Human Rights Working Group (HRWG), Jakarta were the guest speakers.
From time to time, Caritas Australia will be involved in discussions on Aceh.

Returning to south Sudan
Thousands of refugees are currently returning to the war-torn south of Sudan hoping to restore a way of life that was violently taken away from them.

After decades of war, a ceasefire in the South has lead thousands of displaced people to leave their refugee camps and journey back to their home villages.
